Guns, pressure and marks
The three guns
- WATER — the vanilla water cannon. Arcs like the real fire truck cannon. Needs the
hosefiretrukasset present. - PRESSURE — a pressurized water gun. Splashes on impact, washes surfaces, leaves wet marks.
- FOAM — a foam gun. Lays foam that sticks to bodywork.
Each truck and hydrant defines which guns it offers, and in what order, under Config.Settings.
Switching
Press the GunTypeSwitchKey — Up Arrow by default — or the middle mouse button.
The middle mouse button is wired separately throughRegisterKeyMappingand is rebindable under Settings › Key Bindings › FiveM. ChangingGunTypeSwitchKeyin the config only rebinds the keyboard control, not the mouse.
An on-screen badge shows the active gun and pops when you switch, so there is no notification. The gun you were last using is remembered — picking the hose back up returns you to it rather than resetting to the first in the list.
Pressure
Right Arrow and Left Arrow raise and lower the gun pressure. Higher pressure reaches further and lands a bigger impact splash.
The jet flies as a real projectile under gravity, so where it lands is simulated rather than guessed — a firefighter's jet lands a few metres away, a drone's carries much further because it has further to fall.
Marks
- Foam lands on the ground, on walls and on vehicle bodywork, where it sticks to the panel and travels with the car.
- Pressurized water splashes on impact and leaves wet marks. Those marks are water, so spraying them does not wash them off — they dry up on their own.
- The pressure gun washes decals — blood, dirt and foam — off surfaces.
- Mark size and spacing both scale with the gun's current pressure, so a wound-down gun lays smaller splats.
The plain WATER gun deliberately leaves no marks and washes nothing: it is the game's own water weapon and already lays and rinses GTA's native decals by itself. Adding ours on top would double them up. It still puts fires out.
Both mark types can be turned off — EnableFoamDecals and EnableWaterDecals.
