Hose extenders

Running out of hose no longer ends the run.

As the hand-held hose nears its maximum length, a flashing on-screen alert warns you and offers a key — R by default — to drop a hose extender.

How it works

The extender is a relay you plant on the ground:

• The incoming hose from the truck, hydrant or previous extender plugs into its back.
• Your hand hose re-roots to its front.
• You keep walking.

It inherits the original source's guns and water tank, so capacity and gun choice do not change down the chain.

Rules

• Only the last extender in a chain can be picked back up, so the line can never be cut in the middle.
• A break only ever affects the hand hose — the extender chain survives it.
• An extender can only be dropped with both feet on the ground, so not while on a ladder.
• The warning starts at WarnFraction of the maximum length (85% by default).

Turning it off

Set HoseExtender.Enabled = false for the old behaviour, where the hose simply snaps at maximum length with no warning.

Lining the prop up

BackOffset and FrontOffset are where the hoses connect on the prop, relative to it. BACK is the incoming hose; FRONT is where your hand hose continues from. Tune these if the ropes do not line up with the prop's two ends.
