Deployable equipment

Three pieces of kit come out of a fire truck's boot. All are standalone for everyone — there is no inventory item — and all are server-synced, so every player including late joiners sees them.

Portable water pump

A generator-style pump you set down at any shoreline, pool or river for an unlimited supply.

The flow:

  1. Stand at a truck with HasWaterPump = true and press G to take it.
  2. Carry it in both hands, aim at the ground and press E to place it (X cancels, scroll rotates).
  3. Press H at the pump to grab its supply hose.
  4. Walk to the water and press E to drop the end in.
  5. Take the fire hose off the pump with E.
  6. Press G to attach that to a truck.

With both ends connected the pump runs and feeds that truck forever, with a looping engine sound. Connect only one end and it pumps nothing — a dry pump reads 0 water, not full.

Other players see the pump in your hands as you carry it, and see your placement preview as you line it up — including whether the spot is valid. The ghost is green where it can sit and red where it cannot, such as on underwater ground.

Picking a pump up removes it for good; it is not refunded.

Rescue air cushion

A deployable inflatable that catches a falling ped.

  1. Stand at a truck with HasFireCushion = true and press C.
  2. Aim at the ground, scroll to rotate, press E to place (X cancels).
  3. Stand at the cushion and press C to pick it back up.

It inflates over about four seconds, lays itself flat to the ground rather than standing upright on a slope, and when a ped lands the surface dents down and springs back while the falling ped is protected through the impact — so it genuinely saves them.

The cushion is 8 metres across inflated. Placed cushions carry a close-range map blip.

Fire drone

A remote drone flown from an equipped truck.

Stand at the truck and press H (or use the target option). Your character holds the remote controller while the camera flies inside the drone.

Controls: W/A/S/D to move, Space/Ctrl for up and down, mouse to look, LMB to spray, MMB to switch guns, arrow keys for pressure, X to exit.

The cockpit HUD shows water level, hose distance, airframe temperature (it climbs as you close on a fire and follows the weather and time of day), radio link quality (degraded by weather, wind and distance — the video feed tears as it drops), a pointer back to the truck, and the controls.

The drone is tethered to the truck by its own thin hose and drains the same tank. That tether is the only hose not capped at 20 metres0 means genuinely unlimited. Near the limit the HUD flashes with a beep; fly past it and the hose snaps and the drone falls out of the sky.

Press X near the truck to stow it, or X away from it to cut the hose and drop it.
